Coming to one of our stores or visiting our website for the very first time is an exciting adventure, a place where you can take your time learning & discovering different types of teas (yum!).
So first, a little bit about who we are...
Bird & Blend Tea Co. is an eco-conscious, independent, people-focused, award winning Tea Mixology Company on a mission to spread happiness and reimagine tea (woohoo!). Bird & Blend was set up and is run by Krisi and Mike who started off packing tea in their bedroom and attending markets. Building Bird & Blend from scratch while staying true to our ethos and values has been their passion. Now with an awesome team, multiple retail stores and a thriving international online store, we’re leading the way in tea innovation in the UK.
And when we mean reimagine tea, we mean it!
The Tea Wall
Our Tea Wall is the heart of every single one of our stores and we recommend this is where you start when you come to our website too, by heading to our Loose Leaf Tea collection. It explodes into view with a rainbow of coloured tin labels on shelves as far as the eyes can see! Sounds like a colourful candy shop right?
We specialise in loose leaf blended tea & LOVE to experiment with different flavours. We’re the home of Carrot Cake, Mint Choc Rooibos & Chocolate Digestives tea, to name a few of our incredibly delicious blends!
So what do the different tin colours mean?
This is how we can identify which tea base they use, it goes like this:
- Black label: Black tea blends e.g Earl Grey Creme
- Blue label: Oolong tea e.g Coconut Milk Oolong
- Yellow label: Yerba mate e.g Morning Kick
- Pink label: Herbal tea e.g Deckchair Dreaming
- Red label: Rooibos tea e.g Gingerbread Chai
In our stores. we’ll take you on a journey through all the tea types by bringing down tins, opening up lids and letting the smells and aromas waft over you! Here on our website we can match you to your perfect tea too, by identifying your fave flavours and getting some recommendations for you. Just contact our Customer Experience TEAm, we’d love to talk tea with you!
Although technology doesn’t quite allow us to let you smell & sample our teas online just yet, you’ll get some free samples on every order you make so you can start working your way through all of our blends!
Even though we specialise in loose leaf tea blends, we do offer 100% biodegradable tea bags on some of our house favourites.
We also stock a variety of teaware if you want to commit to the beauTEA of loose leaf. Our Brewdini Gravity Steepers are the ideal mess-free way to make the perfect cuppa, just ask our tea mixologists, we use them in our store kitchens.
Or if refreshing iced teas are your game, we stock our infamous Cold Brew Tea Bottle, perfect for really experimenting with different blends.
More magical wonders
Not only do we stock the largest amount of tea blends in the UK, but we also have another win up our sleeves, matcha tea powders. Our co-founder Krisi is not the biggest fan of the umami flavour of the Japanese green tea powder, so created the first & largest collection of naturally flavoured matcha tea powders in the UK. Think Peaches & Cream matcha, Gingernut Biscuits matcha & even Salted Caramel matcha!
Matcha is incredibly good for you & holds x10 more antioxidants than a cup of green tea. In our stores, we whip them up into mouth-watering matcha lattes or as a cooling matcha lemonade on sunny days.

As our stores are such wonderful spaces to be in, for the past 7 years, we have been hosting events and getting our fabulous communiTEAs involved. We do throw a good ol’ shindig whether that’s in the form of local events and collaborations or our famous tea lock ins and tea mixology workshops.
We love meeting new people and sharing our love of tea. Try out our store cafes where we can whip you up a mean latte or a delicious iced tea, or if you want to get creative with your own ideas (Guarana Chai in Lemonade? Ohhhh yeah, go for it!). Hello, Can your tea bags go into our food waste caddy? I don’t compost at home. Do I have to remove the tag and string or is it all fully biodegradable? What about the paper sachet? Just want to make sure I get it right. Many thanks.
