This cosy season, we’re celebrating the magical world of tea with a new tea powder not seen before in our collection. Say hello to Vanilla Kafe Hawaij Tea Powder!
Kafe Hawaij is a versatile traditional Yemeni spice blend often used to add warmth & spice to beverages such as coffee or even in meals & baking. Along with its aromatic, spiced yet sweet flavour, we loved the symbolism of hospitality & warmth often associated with Kafe Hawaij, and so have created a B&B spin on the recipe that celebrates its traditional roots.
Our version includes a blend of cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, cloves, & nutmeg along with a vanilla twist to create a smooth, caffeine-free tea powder that can be prepared & enjoyed any time of day.
Lovers of our chai blends & our other tea powders won’t want to miss this. Like chai, Vanilla Kafe Hawaij has a gently spiced flavour profile that’s perfect for the change in season. Whisk it up as a hot, frothy latte with oat milk & a dash of cinnamon for a warming hug in a mug, or serve over ice with milk or water for a hydrating boost.
Vanilla Kafe Hawaij Tea Powder is part of our limited edition cosy collection, brimming with gently spiced autumnal magic to sip all season long.

Just a Bag of Spices :(
"I didn’t read the ingredients list before purchasing. I was just seduced by the description. I tried making a chai-like drink first, with just this powder - biggest coughing fit ever! Then I tried adding a matcha spoon amount into sticky chai - better but gritty. Finally found a use for it - I add a matcha spoon sized scoop into the milk frother & it creates spiced milk for topping my sticky chai. It’s going to last a long, long time though. I think calling it tea powder is a misnomer as there isn’t any tea in it. Next time, I’ll read the ingredients list so I know what to expect!"

Nice taste
"Loved the flavour but found the powder didn’t fully blend in. Having said that I would purchase again as it is a great chai taste"

Incredibly polarising
"This tea has a. . . very strong and distinctive flavour. Personally, I found it to be gritty and overly spicy, which made it difficult for me to enjoy as I would cough my lungs up. However, my mum appreciated its spiciness very much! It seems that preferences vary greatly from person to person. I plan to purchase more for my mum, but for myself, I think I would definitely prefer to explore other options in the future."

I love the taste but it remains gritty and needs extra time to sieve
"It’s good but not if you want an easy cozy drink. More work needed, maybe should be in tea bag form to avoid the gritty texture that eventually overpowers the taste. I would recommend less than a tea spoon is required as the taste is strong. Still like the drink and add to my porridge sometimes :)"

Lovely
"I love the spices in this tea, I don’t find it overpowering. I drink it as a latte and is comforting and very tasty."

Too spicy for me
"I had good hopes for this one but sadly it was too spicy for me, and also a bit on the gritty side (as the tea powders/ matchas with spices in are prone to, but I was hoping it wouldn't have this problem after reading the other reviews). I loved the other tea powders I've tried and hope to see more flavours in the future, but unfortunately this one wasn't for me."

Better than gingerbread chai!
"I have a rounded 1/2 teaspoon, mixed in a little water, like matcha and topped up with hot soya barista. I love the spicy ginger with the creamy soya. A drop of honey or vanilla syrup makes it more luxurious, but I mostly have it without. It's an amazing way to warm up after a long walk or a few hours gardening."

Spicy!!!
"Mixes up just like matcha, it’s got the same tones as their sticky chai but there wasn’t any sweetness to me, just spice. I don’t get any vanilla either, tried both as a tea and latte w coconut milk, which was slightly more palatable but very overpowering, I would start with just under 1/2 a perfect teaspoon and work up, It does however calm my stomach due to all the ginger!!"
— Caitlin G. (3/5)
"This tea is a bit like hot cinnamon except it's a bit grainy towards the end. I make then strain before drinking."
— Caroline (4/5)
Warming and flavourful
"This blend has a great balance of flavour between the ingredients. It's warming and comforting - will be great when it gets colder. The aroma is also lovely. I thought it might be grainy but it wasn't - brewed with just water and it was great."
