Wonderful way to sample some great black teas
I "gifted" this to myself as a way to sample more Bird & Blend teas. I also made myself two cups at once so I could compare them side by side. I drank them all with milk added.
Great British Cuppa (5 stars) - my favourite of the non scented teas. Rich and round and smooth, with a hint of nutty warmth. I would definitely buy this again.
Builder's Breakfast Brew (4 stars) - compared to GBC this tea has more of a tang. I liked it but if I were ordering a black morning tea, I'd go for GBC instead.
Assam House Blend (4 stars) - this is a very strong Assam which pretty much completely drowned out the bergamot in it. A great Assam but not in any way an Earl Grey experience. Perhaps it's not supposed to be, but bergamot is listed as a flavour.
Earl Grey Creme (5 stars) - wonderful. Very smooth, a great balance of vanilla and bergamot (interestingly bergamot isn't specified in the ingredients, only "natural flavouring", unlike for AHB). I would definitely buy this for an Earl Grey in future. Particularly good if you're not so fond of "fruity" or overly citrussy Earl Greys and want a smoother, creamier flavour.
