    Nowhere near as good

"Every year I looked forward to the spiced pumpkin chai, but I'm really disappointed by the new blend. The orange definitely makes it feel more festive rather than autumnal, and as a tea it is fine, just not what I was hoping for. Also really miss the little pumpkin sprinkles, they were so cute!"

    I miss the old recipe!

"Unfortunately this new recipe is a complete miss for me :( The last few years this tea has been my favourite and I’ve looked forward to it every year but this new recipe is not the same. It’s bitter and too citrusy and doesn’t have the adorable Halloween sprinkles anymore :("

    If it ain't broke. . .

"Bought this in August, waited for an autumnal morning to enjoy and was very disappointed with this new adaptation. It's nothing like the original Spiced Pumpkin Pie tea, it's lacking on flavour, and what little there is, it's like a generic supermarket chai that relies on lots of ginger. Baby Spice is the closest you'll get to the original. If you're a fan of SPP and you buy this, treat it as if it's a completely different tea to avoid disappointment."

    Adele (1/5)

Unfortunately not like the old version

"I LOVED the previous version of this tea and was so excited to get a tin of the new version. However, sadly it doesn't compare at all and just smells too fruity to me? Brewed with a bit of soya milk, it tastes ok but lacks any distinct flavour - unfortunately nothing like the amazingness we had last year :("

    Julia (2/5)

    So disappointed :-(

"The old blend spices were perfect and it was one of my favourite parts of autumn- the tea just could have been stronger. This has lost the vanilla, has too much ginger and has orange in for some reason which I've never seen in Pumpkin Pie anything. It's okay but tastes like a Christmas Chai. I am gutted."

    Summer (2/5)

    New blend is horrible

"This is my favourite tea, I buy kgs of this every year and am so disappointed in the new blend! It just smells like clove, and the added orange doesn’t work at all. It tastes so bitter has such a strong clove aftertaste. I have a stash of the old stuff but please bring it back!!! Also feels disingenuous to use the old listing and reviews for what is a very different tea."

    Daina (1/5)

Please bring the old blend back!

"I'm a big Bird and Blend fan in general and was optimistic about this new blend. The original Spiced Pumpkin Pie was an Autumn staple in my house (and the tiny sugar pumpkins were adorable). I was hoping the new Spiced Pumpkin Chai would be similar but with slightly different tea base. Unfortunately it tastes nothing like the original! Instead of pumpkin shining through it tastes more like black tea and something earthy - possibly ginger, but without the zing. My sister bought a 20g bag for us to try, and was glad she hadn't gone for a bigger bag. Fortunately we have some of the original blend leftover from last year, but won't be buying this new blend to replace it when gone. Please bring the original Spiced Pumpkin Pie back next year - it used to be so good."

    Not for me

"Haven't tried any of the spiced pumpkin range till now as not a fan of overly spiced drinks but thought I'd give it a go anyway knowing it probably wouldnt be a favourite! With other b&b teas I've been surprised at loving ones I thought I'd hate, sadly not the case with this one. All I could taste was overpowering taste of cloves & couldn't take more than a sip of it. Everyone's tastes are different & it might be that others love this, unfortunately it's not for me."

Absolutely Disgusting - Both Taste and Service

"I have loved the Spiced Pumpkin Pie Tea for years. It is my comfort tea. I bought some for this year and am so, so disappointed and upset by the change in recipe to Spiced Pumpkin Chai. It has lost all character and cosiness, and is actually disgusting. I emailed Customer Services to explain how I felt and ask for help, and all I got in response was a condescending reply explaining how wonderful their tea redevelopment process is. No offer of help, no mention of the Happiness Guarantee that is supposedly something B&BT offers. Save your money — this isn’t worth it."

    Heather (1/5)

Ginger chai NOT spiced pumkin pie

"Please disregard my past positive review as that was for the old recipe. I was truly looking forward to this version but alas it is no where close to the flavour profile of a pumkin spice mix at all. This tea simply tastes like an overwhelming ginger tasting chai. I do not recommend this tea if you are looking for a true spiced pumkin flavour. If you are looking for a replacement for the lebkuchen tea this is for you"

    Q&A

How can I order spicy pumpkin tea, no add to basket on the screen despite some being shown as in stock
Hi there! Unfortunately this tea was seasonal and is sadly now discontinued, which is why you cannot complete checkout! However, if you check our mailing lists, we will have secret sales/ drops in the future - so who knows when stock may come back around...! Anna @ B&B
Can I re-steep the tea bags of this tea? Thank you!
Hi there, We don't recommend re-steeping black tea. Thanks Katie @ B&B
Hello, does this contain caffeine and if so how much (low/medium strength is fine)
Thanks for your question Georgina, this is a black tea so has a larger amount of caffeine than say green tea or oolong . It has around 50mg per cup. we have a useful article on our website that may also help - https://www.birdandblendtea.com/blogs/tea-academy/does-tea-have-more-caffeine-than-coffee. I hope this helps.
Hello, does this tea blend have star anise? I don't see it in the ingredients but see it featured in the video on the side and in the "tastes like chai" photo. I'm allergic to star anise and have been looking for a chai without it, so just want to double check!
Hi Gabriela, Thanks for your question! You'll be happy to hear that Spiced Pumpkin Pie doesn't contain star anise :) I do hope that helps, please let me know if you have any other questions. Happy Sipping! Claire @ B&B
Does this tea have multiple infusions
Hi there, I'd only brew each batch of tea once, but do experiment and see what you get! Ian @ B&B
