As the UK’s leading tea mixologists, we find inspiration all around us for our tea blends. From your favourite choccy biccy to nostalgic childhood sweets, fruity summer cold brews to classic Christmas flavours. But sometimes inspiration strikes in a different, more conceptual way.
Chief Tea Mixologist & Co-Founder Krisi was inspired to create a tea blend that evoked the same delicate, emotive atmosphere created in Van Gogh’s masterpiece, Starry Night is considered to be one of the greatest achievements of Western art, and so creating this tea blend was a delicate mission indeed. The painting combines deep blues, vibrant yellows & whites, creating a feeling of emotional intensity and transporting you into a dreamlike atmosphere surrounded by stars that glow in the night.
To capture the essence of the painting, Krisi explored ingredients that were reminiscent of the colours of the painting, while also telling the story of Van Gogh’s life to capture both the art & the artist in this very special tea blend.
Sunflower petals portray the yellow glow of the stars in the night sky, blended with lavender, in a nod to Van Gogh’s time spent in Provence, France, where Starry Night was painted. The colours of Provence’s picturesque landscapes greatly influenced his paintings during this period of his life.
Alongside soothing herbs & flowers including rosehip, hibiscus & mallow flowers, this delicate herbal blend is a treat for all the senses.
Free from caffeine, our Starry Night tea makes the perfect accompaniment to a quiet, peaceful moment as you escape the hustle & bustle of the festive season. We recommend brewing this one as a simple, warming cup of calm without milk, and it’s also wonderful cold brewed in water.
You can find Starry Night as a loose leaf tea in-store & online inside our beautifully designed bespoke Starry Night tea pouch, or in tea bags, making a thoughtful Christmas gift for the artist in all of us.
