Toffee Chai

Never tried Chai before. I was always put off by the thought of a spicy tea, but having recently tried a few Bird & Blend teas, I threw caution to the wind and ordered the little bag. It's really good. I take a tiny drop of milk and one sugar and I don't care if that makes me a tea heathen. Flavours of dates and sticky toffee pudding without being claggy in the mouth.

Not an every day tea, but a good one to have with a packet of Frazzles when you get the munchies in the middle of the night, but can't risk coffee because you've got work in, like, 3 hours.

I'm also considering making a strong brew of this and mixing with spiced rum, to bathe the Christmas cake this year. Let me know if you need any for stock, I start making them in September. :)

Tastes like a mouthful of those chewy chocolate covered toffees from the quality street tin. subtle chocolatey undertone , fragant and comforting toffee. add a dash of sweetener and milk to bring out the taste. might even make a nice mild latte . the chai spice is more like a warming aftertaste from the ginger and cinnamon . no real spice here, just gentle warmth. would be a nice cosy drink for kids too. it's good before bed in the winter if you want gentle sweet warming tea, and don't want the full on firey kick of gingerbread chai!
