Not For Everyone but I Love It
"This tea is odd, but I really enjoy it! It's quite mellow and delicate. The dominant flavor is definitely puffed rice, with slight apple undertones. The apple comes through more with sweetener added."

Toasted Apple Tea offers a unique blend of roasted green tea, popped rice, and toasty apples, appealing to fans of Genmaicha with its savory twist. While some enjoy the apple flavor, others find it average, and there are mixed opinions on the apple's strength.

"This was my favourite tea for years whilst it was on the permanent menu, and I would love to see it keep returning for the autumn seasons. Rather than being overwhelming sweet, the apple's astringency balances and clarifies the genmaicha. I know it might not be to everyone's taste, but in a range with a great many sweet teas - including multiple apple variants already - I dearly hope this will remain available as it is to those of us who enjoy different flavour profiles."
"Let me start with the positives - this tea smells bloody amazing. SO amazing. Really smells of toasted rice, crisp, fresh apples. It made me so excited. . . But then I brewed it. The taste is absolutely nothing like the smell, it loses all its apple-y goodness and tastes like a plain green tea with hints of the toasted rice at best. I have only just had time to get round to reviewing. . . but I genuinely regret getting a larger bag of this tea. It isn't one I reach for at all, as it is quite bland compared to all my other delicious and fun teas. Shame. I was so excited by it and the smell really made excited too, but it just doesn't deliver. I hate to say that, truly. But it wasn't giving what it needed to give, unfortunately"
"The apple flavour really comes through, and the toasted rice a lovely flavour."
"The popped rice adds a nice toastiness to the apple tea. Delicate flavour and a solid green tea option."
"I wasn’t sure about this one to begin with. It’s definitely a green tea and the apple is subtle (the smell is stronger), but I have slowly become obsessed and now only want to drink this tea. I had hoped it would be a substitute for Apple bobbing: it is not (that’s a fruit tea, so I probably should have guessed), but I’m glad I gave it a chance. The toasty/popped corn flavour is what makes this different - perfect for colder days. I love it."
"Agree with the other reviews on here that unfortunately the apple flavour doesn’t come through at all and it leaves quite a boring and average green tea. Doesn’t compare to some of the other green tea blends!"
"I wasn't sure about this one as I wouldn't usually buy apple-flavoured things, but it came in the Cosy Collection and I absolutely love it! I was a big fan of brown rice tea already, and with the subtle apple flavour in here that isn't too sweet, it's the perfect combination in my book. Will have to buy more!"
"I'm a big fan of classic toasted rice tea blends like genmaicha, so I've really been enjoying this take on that flavour profile. The apple adds and amazing depth to the scent of the tea, when dry and when brewed, and has a mild fruitiness which brings out the nuttiness of the flavour. It brings to mind warm apple tart straight out of the oven!"
"This one wasnt for me. It smells absolutely lovely but for me tasted weirdly like popcorn."
