"Was so excited to try this one. Got a 20g pouch to try. When I opened the pouch I was disappointed with the look. Don’t look much like the photos and I couldn’t see any sugar stars. Also don’t smell very sweet. Brewed a cup as a tea latte and it just didn’t taste great. Very heavy rooibos and not much else. Such a shame. I will say that out of the many blends I’ve tried so far from B&B this is the only one I really disliked. The rest have been delicious!"

Perfect as a latte
"The birthday cake tea latte with whipped cream on top was an amazing treat for the Brighton store's birthday! I was finding the flavour a bit weak until the B&B staff at the Brighton location helped me understand how to brew it. They suggested to start with a concentrate and then add water/milk from there. This tea is definitely better with milk and also tastes exactly like cake if you add some extra sweetener like honey (at the store they used a pump of vanilla and cherry syrups to make the latte). Because it takes a bit more work, I give this one 4 stars."

- Hello Francesca, thank you for your question. All our current blends are gluten free. As one of the main 14 Allergen's should a blend contain gluten we would highlight that on the website and all packaging. Andi @ B&B
- Why is this one of the headline teas being displayed in a feature on caffeine-free teas? I thought the recipe must have changed but it still includes black tea...
- Hi Louise, thank you so much for asking your question! Although this tea is predominantly a rooibos blend it does contain a small amount of black tea and therefore is not 100% caffeine free. Most of our customers who live low caffeine lifestyles and/or have caffeine sensitivity tell us this blend is fine for them to enjoy but we advise to avoid if you are allergic to caffeine. - Is this tea decaff?
- Hi Heather, thank you for reaching out with a question! Birthday Cake tea contains a small amount of Black Tea along with Rooibos so it is not free of caffeine. If you are looking for something completely caffeine free we do have a lovely Wedding Cake blend which is similar but with subtle notes of vanilla sponge, coconut & rose! A really lovely one to try.
