How to Make Matcha in 4 Different Ways!

How to make the perfect cup of matcha in 4 delicious ways - a matcha made in heaven! 

Make your matcha shot!

First make your matcha shot, this will be the base of all your matcha drinks!

  1. Add 1 Perfect Matcha Spoon (half a teaspoon) of your chosen matcha into a bowl or cup.
  2. Add a splash of warm water (80℃).
  3. Use your Bamboo Matcha Whisk to whisk your matcha in a 'W' shape until frothy.
From here you can turn it into a:
  • Hot Matcha: Top up with hot water
  • Matcha Latte: Top up with frothy hot milk
  • Iced Matcha Latte: Pour over ice & top with milk
  • Iced Matcha Lemonade: Pour over ice & top with soda or lemonade

Hot Matcha

  1. Pour your shot of matcha into a cup
  2. Top with boiling water
  3. You can also add a syrup of choice if you like it sweeter. (Our faves are vanilla syrup or agave!)

Matcha Latte

  1. Pour your shot of matcha into a cup
  2. When smooth, add water until half-full. Stir in a few drops of Sweetbird Vanilla Syrup and honey, if using.
  3. Next, gently heat and froth the milk in a saucepan on the hob (if you are using a Handheld Milk & Matcha Frother, you can add the milk directly to the tea and then froth for a creamier taste).
  4. Add the milk to the tea, stirring as you go and ensuring you get a nice big dollop of frothy milk on top.

Iced Matcha

1. Pour your shot of matcha into a large glass with ice
2. If required, add a sweetener of your choice (our faves are vanilla syrup or agave!)
3. Top with a milk of choice (we love oat, coconut, or almond!)

Iced Matcha Lemonade

2. Squeeze in a fresh lemon
3. Add a shot of honey or agave to sweeten
4. Top with fizzy water or lemonade
